Understanding your menopause
Acupuncture can be a very helpful form of treatment for symptom management during and after menopause. When you attend for treatment, I will spend time not only discussing your symptoms, but also your thoughts and feelings on your health. This time in a woman`s life can be extremely challenging, not only with symptom management, but also family dynamics. Allowing you time to express how you feel mentally and physically, means I can treat you as a person not just your symptoms in isolation. Where appropriate, I may discuss work life balance, nutrition, exercise and sleep. As a therapist, I am here to support you in any way I can through this time of your life and hope acupuncture can help ease the transition.

Perimenopause symptoms
Hi Louise, I just wanted to say a heartfelt thanks you for helping me through my peri menopause journey. Since I started coming to see you, I feel like me again and I can’t thank you enough for that. My brain fog has disappeared, I have more energy and my mood has improved.

Perimenopause symptoms
I wasn’t sure what was wrong with me when I contacted Louise, I had so many different symptoms post Covid with night sweats, hot flushes, fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, tiredness, joint pain and swelling and periods that were suddenly more regular than ever before. I was also suffering with regular debilitating migraines that medication didn’t touch. I had visited my GP and they talked about perimenopause but tests were inconclusive and so they wouldn’t offer HRT and as I seem to get every side effect of medication, I wasn’t keen on this anyway. I couldn’t continue with the daily battles feeling low and anxious, hot all the time and with lack of sleep I had constant irritability and so I looked for alternative treatments online and found Louise. I had used acupuncture many years early for migraines and so I knew it was good for me and what a great decision it turned out to be. The clinic is spotlessly clean and has a calming feel. Louise makes me feel at ease as she listens and explains what she is doing. Louise is passionate about acupuncture and is very well educated and experienced in Acupuncture and women’s health and as for the treatment itself; after the first visit I felt instant relief, feeling cooler later in the evening and after a few sessions the migraines became less frequent and manageable. Over the 2 years of seeing Louise every month, my symptoms are more manageable and if new symptoms arise, as they inevitably do as perimenopause journey continues and my older self is blossoming, Louise changes the treatment as needed to work on a combination of symptoms. All of my perimenopausal symptoms are either gone or hugely reduced and my mood is much better. I suffer from stress and anxiety and when I’m having a bad time Louise works on this too. I leave the clinic feeling energised and the days following make me know that acupuncture is a much better method of treatment for me than typical medicines from the GP and as the days get closer to seeing Louise my body starts to feel warm again and I know I am due a session.

Perimenopause symptoms
Whilst going through the menopause, I didn’t want to go on HRT so I went down the route of acupuncture. I found Louise’s clinic through a Google search and I couldn’t be thankful enough to her from the first visit. I turned up unsure of what to expect and I was very low due to mood swings, sleepless nights, hot sweats, flushes, fatigue and brain fog. Louise put me at ease as I broke down and cried as I felt I couldn’t cope no longer. The night of the first acupuncture treatment was the best sleep ever and my symptoms are now more manageable for me. I have been going now for weeks and I will continue to attend as this treatment has, and still is helping me immensely! Louise is very professional in what she does and has years of experience, so I would highly recommend to any woman that may be menopausal to have acupuncture and don’t suffer in silence.

Perimenopause symptoms
Before I tried acupuncture during the perimenopausal time of my life, I was angry on a regular basis and sometimes felt mood swings and fatigue. After having acupuncture, I felt more energised and relaxed, the hot flushes were fewer and my emotions felt calmer. For women out there, who feel completely out of control during menopause, try acupuncture, you will be amazed how much better you feel. The effects are powerful yet gentle and Louise is a superb therapist.

Menopause symptoms
I tried acupuncture when I began to suffer from menopause symptoms including migraines, hot flushes, mood swings and night sweats. My sleep pattern was quite erratic, making every day functioning quite difficult. After my first treatment with Louise, I stopped experiencing migraines and the hot flushes considerably reduced. The night sweats were also more bearable because they were less frequent. My sleeping pattern improved as did the mood swings and I continued to have acupuncture whenever the symptoms re appear.
