Personal & Workplace Health Insurance Policies

If you have a personal or workplace health insurance policy its always worth checking to see if your policy covers acupuncture, so you can claim back your costs. The benefits of acupuncture not only extend to helping conditions affecting your personal life but also those associated with the workplace such as stress, difficulty sleeping and low energy levels. Achieving a good work life balance is important to all of us, so do check your policy to see if you could book acupuncture. Nowadays, many health insurance companies do cover acupuncture but all companies work different in that they recognise practitioners who are members of certain professional bodies. My membership is with the British Acupuncture Council and so I advise patients to check their policy or call their provider to confirm my membership entitles them to be covered to claim back costs.

How to claim back your costs

After paying for your treatment in full on the day, your receipt can either be given to you in paper form or sent as an attachment to your email address. This receipt can then be forwarded by email to your insurer and they can pay you directly into your bank. If you have a policy whereby your insurance wishes to pay me directly then I am more than happy to discuss this with you on an individual basis.
